About the Workshop

The LaTeCH workshop series aims to provide a forum for researchers who are working on developing novel information technology for improved information access to data from the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Cultural Heritage.

Recent developments in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Cultural Heritage draw an increasing interest from researchers in NLP in developing methods for data cleaning, semantic annotation, intelligent querying, linking, discovery and visualisation of interesting trends.

This two-day workshop addresses two specific but related research problems in computational linguistics.

The ESIRMT event (1st day) aims at reducing the gap, both theoretical and practical, between information retrieval and machine translation research and applications.

In order to particularly encourage submissions for the users’ track, we have created a new submission type: short papers for oral/poster presentation: 2-4 pages.

In order to encourage participation from developers/industry, we have introduced a technology showcase, where people can demonstrate their products.
