Methodology

Fact Sheet

Challenge

High-quality translation between many simultaneous languages on the web. We address 15 languages, including 12 of EU's official languages. The tool is directed for producers of documents, rather than consumers. Thus we are not satisfied with browsing quality, but on the other hand we need not have broad coverage.

Goal

Develop tools that enable web content providers to create publishing-quality translations automatically. The tools apply to specific domains, and require an initial adaptation of the translation system to each domain.

Adding tests to gfsage

To help with regression testing I recently added a test option to gfsage for batch-testing the system by reading dialog samples from a file.

The samples must be in a text file and consist in a sequence of dialogs which are sequences of query/responses to the Sage system. Notice that a dialog might carry a state in the form of assumptions that are asserted or variables that are assigned. In the same way, each dialog is completely independent of the others.

Each dialog starts with a BEGIN or BEGIN language line.

Knowledge Representation Infrastructure

The modules and functionality of the MOLTO Knowledge Representation Infrastructure (KRI) is thoroughly described in D4.1 Knowledge Representation Infrastructure.

This KRI is the data modeling and manipulation backbone of the entire project, aiming to serve semi-automatic creation of abstract grammars from ontologies; deriving ontologies from grammars, and instance level knowledge from Natural Language (NL).

Use case content type

Hello, after reading D9.1, I now created a new content type on the web pages to capture use cases. They are needed possibly to clarify the scenarios planned for some of the tools of the deliverables.

You can specify your own use cases going to http://www.molto-project.eu/node/add/use-case and following the instructions of the form. I followed the template description on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_case

Let me know if you want modifications to this content type. If this will be used, I will then print the use cases on the related deliverable descriptions.
