Abstract | The “WP7: Patents Case Study” aims to create a prototype for automatic translation and multilingual retrieval of patents. The present document is the final report of the Patents Case Study. It describes the multilingual patents retrieval prototype, produced in this workpackage, and a brief user manual to access the on-line demonstrative application. The main highlights achieved in the final prototype, with respect to previous versions described in the Deliverable 7.1 and Deliverable 7.2, are a) the translation of patent document with semantic annotations driven by the statistical system, b) the new query approach for controlled natural language to SPARQL translation, driven by GF and the query grammar on the biomedical domain, c) the integration of a mechanism for query back-off, d) updates on the retrieval system to improve the response time of the system, and also e) to address the usability of the user interface. |
