SC meeting 2010.06.15

1. Brief status report :

   UGOT: Deliverables finished: dissemination plan, web service. Work started on GF-SMT hybrid in collaboration with UPC, first experimenting with alignments. Java-PGF interpreter up and running on Android phones. Krasimir has worked in Sofia and Varna and discussed with Ontotext.

   UHEL: Started implementing a platform for evaluation. Getting into GF development, contributing to web service demo. Ontology-lexicon interface will soon be demoed in connection to the Content Factory project.

   UPC: Experiments with OpenMT platform, which will be transferred to GF-SMT hybrid. First experiments in GF-SMT by Cristina with Ramona at UGOT. Mathematics case study: data collection started. Python bindings for GF, work towards integration with NLTK.

   Ontotext: RDF infrastructure in place, with default knowledge bases; waiting for real data from other partners. Specification of query language sent to UGOT, who is expected to build a GF grammar. Looking at the extraction of ontology from Museum database obtained from Gothenburg City Museum via Dana at UGOT.

2. Finalize dates of 1st project meeting :

   8-10 September in Varna.

3. Discuss program & logistics of 1st project meetings :

• Day 1: demos and talks, open for public
• Day 2: management tasks, "formal" WP meetings

• Day 3: technical work in groups around common tasks

  Ontotext will book venue and give recommendations on accommodation and travel.

1. Upcoming deliverables in September :

   Deliverables from UHEL are under way - no special action needed.

2. Other matters :

• Workplan to be modified to allow UPC to start earlier -- clearly delay in Patent WP.
• It was suggested that we might apply for project extension because of the Consortium issues.
• Talks with EPO are ongoing still
