Agenda

  1. Deliverables list
  2. Consortium & Annex DoW revision
  3. Report from META-Forum
  4. Summer School quick update
  5. Other issues, see below

Minutes

  1. Deliverables last done is D9.1 which is not stable - partners are supposed to continue work in evaluation

  2. WP7 delayed 6 months, Cristina leads it. Deliverables pushed only 3 months - a milestone pushed also. Aarne partitioned the budget and looks ok so far but wait the EU project officer to open the online platform. OC: to update the deliverables online OC: upload DoW (under revision version - but budget summary not in yet) AA: Consortium agreement will be amended

  3. Georg Artelsmair from EPO "fit for purpose" translations are ok, cooperate with Pluto, with Google too. We get3 the data from EPO, not try to compete with Google or Pluto. Suggestion to contact eg Swedish Patent Office or other national patents office. Ask them for specific tasks targeting minor languages. From Meta-Forum: clear that translation is a hot topic. MOLTO has to profile itself differently. BP: we can work together instead of competing. AR: yes, our hybrid model does that, we also need to focus on technology and in retrieval. AR: corpus still possibly pharmaceutical/chemical. EPO suggested "telecommunication" for northern countries. Unclear who will evaluate (for TAUS? we need to subcontract?) It will become clear once we start. LC: ECA in Helsinki has done chemistry eval before. AR: new call for SME - deadline is April for short 5 page proposals

  4. school.grammaticalframework.org

  5. XSD: in Spain this week is a holiday, which explains slow answers from us.

AR: we could add a new case study - ideal partner: would do a MOLTO application plus evaluation. OC: prepare call for partners. OC: will check money for this obj. XSD: new partners should strengthen MOLTO position in the translation arena

Possibility to enlarge the Consortium

You may be aware that the 2011-2012 work programme includes Objective ICT 2011.11.3 - Supplements to strengthen co-operation in ICT R&D in an enlarged European Union. This offers to co-ordinators of ongoing ICT research projects (IP or STREP) which finish after the 30th June 2012 the opportunity to add one or more new partners to their project to expand its activities in or into the enlarged European Union.

Full details of how to submit your proposal are available on cordis.

Please go to the Guide for applicants for either IP's or STREPS and have a look at Annex 7 (p.63) which gives particular instructions for Objective 11.3.

To express your interest in finding new partners please make an entry.

  • Indicative Budget Distribution: 10 Mi. Eur.
  • Deadline: 18 January 2011 at 17:00:00 (Brussels local time)

The funding requested should represent a reasonable extension of the on-going project to achieve the goals of the objective; not exceeding 30% of the Commission funding of the existing project or EUR 1 million, whichever is the lower.
