Open Position at Institute of Computational Linguistics of the University of Zurich

At the Institute of Computational Linguistics we are developing the collaborative knowledge base editor AceWiki-GF (http://attempto.ifi.uzh.ch/acewiki-gf/) as part of the EU project MOLTO (http://www.molto-project.eu).

AceWiki-GF is on the one side based on AceWiki (http://attempto.ifi.uzh.ch/acewiki/) developed at the University of Zurich as part of the project Attempto (http://attempto.ifi.uzh.ch/site/), and on the other side on the Grammatical Framework (http://www.grammaticalframework.org) developed at the University of Gothenburg.

AceWiki-GF extends AceWiki – that is based solely on

NPLD is not a political party, or is it?

I just learned about NPLD, http://www.npld.org, the Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity. NPLD is a pan-European network comprising of governmental organisations, universities, associations and NGO’s all working in the field of language policy and planning for Constitutional, Regional and Small-State Languages (CRSS) across Europe. MOLTO's work contributes to the aims of this network: to raise awareness at a European level on the positive aspects of linguistic diversity and to exchange best practices among the policy makers, practitioners, researchers and experts from all over Europe.

Your Friendly Evaluation Coordinator here...

Hi everybody,

I'm Jussi Rautio, the week-old MT Evaluation Coordinator working at the University of Helsinki tasked to evaluate the quality of MOLTO translations.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

CLARA Thematic training course on evaluation of Human Language Technologies

www.elda.org/clara/

26-29 November 2012, Paris, France

As part of the CLARA Marie Curie Initial Training Network, ELDA and University of Copenhagen organize a four-day thematic training course on evaluation of Human Language Technologies in Paris.

Goal and Focus

For any HLT research effort to be successful, it is essential that it be assessed through rigorous evaluations of the developed technologies.

GF mirrored on GitHub

GF is now available from GitHub too, at github.com/GrammaticalFramework/GF. This means you can get also statistics of the usage and impact based on data available at GitHub. This does not cover all the development of users of GF at Darcs but it might still give some insight, for instance to the fact that most commits happen in the early afternoon hours.
